You are to select an essay topic from below and write a well-constructed response. Ensure you follow the conventions of essay writing, that is, an introduction, paragraphs addressing one main point, a conclusion that effectively closes your essay.
TOPICS: (you need to only select one of the topics below)
China must reduce its population and size. The methods used by the government can be justified. Discuss and evaluate this statement.
Discuss the reasons for the implementation of China’s ‘One Child Policy and evaluate its effectiveness.
Using examples you have studied, outline the population policies of countries that have either tried to reduce or increase their population and evaluate the effectiveness of these policies.
This task will be done in-class, during a 75 minute period. You are expected to write at least 500 words.
You can make a "cheat sheet" which creates important information, facts and figures. It should not contain any long pre-written paragraphs, dot points, facts and figures only.
At the end of the 75 minute period you will hand in your cheat sheet and your essay.
